Transpectancy

Transpectancy

‘Transpectancy’ is a word I coined from the words ‘transformation’ and ‘expectancy.’ The word ‘transformation’ suggests a positive changing of form. ‘Expectancy’ is a word that according to recent neuroscience, represents thought power that can actually change ‘life and death’ outcomes. It implies the kind of thinking that fuels both ‘placebo’ (I shall heal) and ‘nocebo’ (I shall harm) potential. Thus, the word ‘transpectancy’ is meant to describe positive expectation with the power to change chemistry, life and death outcomes and reality.

The primary obstacle that stands in the way of the power and potential of our ‘transpectancy’ is ‘limiting belief.’ Belief is merely thought that is empowered by mind states and emotions. Therefore, if I empower a negative belief with a negative mind state or emotion I turn off the positive life changing potential of ‘transpectancy.’ There are three mind states that empower limiting beliefs and disable the potential of ‘transpectancy.’

The 3 Transpectancy Disabeling Mind States:

  1. Fear – “I feel too unsafe to expect positive outcomes.”
  2. Shame - “I feel too undeserving to expect positive outcomes.”
  3. Doubt  - “I feel too disappointed to expect positive outcomes.”

In the most primitive sense the subconscious mind was designed to protect us by remembering and reminding us of all the negative experiences we have ever had whether real or imagined. Whether dominantly programmed to trigger fear, shame or doubt, the subconscious mind never forgets. It continues to believe in every trauma, nightmare and negative thought. If a child never burned their hand on a stove but their mother did when she was young, that child will likely be programmed to fear stove tops by the mother’s negative subconscious programming. Our most emotionally charged and repetitious thought patterns always shape our reality, and in the case of fear conditioning, a reality that binds and limits growth and prosperity. Those thoughts that fire through our nerve networks most often ultimately wire corresponding nerve networks together, reinforcing the same repeated thought patterns. The key with ‘transpectancy’ is to initiate new positive thought patterns until we at last become more willing to expect positive outcomes, and the best way to begin establishing new, positive thought patterns is through Neuro Associative Conditioning.

N.A.C. – Neuro Associative Conditioning is a well studied technique that has proven that we can actually re-shape our reality by re-programming our nervous system through positive thinking. It’s quite simple. Our nervous system is neurologically wired to respond most dominantly to two variables: pleasure and pain. We can actually alter the reality dictating nerve network chemistry in our brains by replacing old ‘pain based’ thought associations with new ‘pleasure based’ programs. For example in the case of the child above, as the child matures they might think of how much they enjoy certain favorite meals. Then as they begin rewiring their belief system regarding stove tops, instead of thinking about the negative experience their mother once had, they can instead begin thinking about the potential of that stove top to prepare the pleasurable meals they enjoy so very much.  When we rehearse linking positive experiences with events once believed to be negative, we rewire our brain’s nerve networks in a manner that initially allows for, and ultimately reinforces a greater tendency for positive expectancy. Once established, our ‘transpectancy’ will open doors to our higher power of positive manifest. Ultimately, ‘transpectancy’ is all about learning to expect miracles before they happen so that they can happen!
